2ND ANNUAL SHORE PADDLE WITH A PURPOSE

Paddleboard & Kayak Ride To Benefit Mercy Center’s Sisters Academy

 

On Sunday, July 15, the Shore Paddle With A Purpose, a paddleboard and kayak ride along the Navesink River, will be held to benefit Mercy Center’s Sisters Academy in Asbury Park.  Paddlers from the tri-state area will take part in the five mile ride that starts and finishes in Victory Park, Rumson, NJ.  A special after-party will be held at Donovan’s Reef in Sea Bright, NJ.

Stand up & prone paddlers will join kayak riders along the Navesink while an array of activities for water sport fans and land lovers alike will take place shore side at Victory Park.  A full day of fun in the sun includes special displays from sponsors including Women Selling Cars To Women at Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall, A.J. Perri, Dos Equis, Whole Foods, Hatteras Press & Communications, Aerial North Signs, WRAT Radio, John E. Day Funeral Home, Starbucks of Middletown and more.  A free stand up paddle demonstration led by the pros at Summertime Surf School and standuppaddlenj.com, a special yoga warm up at 9 am led by the staff at lululemon athletica is free and open to the public and other fun activities on both land and sea!  The Paddle With A Purpose after party at Donovan’s Reef from 2-5 pm and includes food and musical entertainment.

The proceeds from this event will be used to support Mercy Center’s Sisters Academy. Sisters Academy is a middle school for girls from economically-challenged families in Asbury Park. Its goal is to keep girls in school through college graduation by providing them with an excellent academic program and the supportive environment necessary for their success.
