How Was Your Fourth?

Did you blow it up or blow out of town?  Did you chill with your friends or prance in a parade?  I’ll bet you have some pictures of you or your friends in a Statue of Liberty hat.  Here’s mine….it’s me and the Mayor of Asbury Park, Ed Johnson, enjoying what I think is a Jersey Shore Special….Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at the Stone Pony.  That’s about as shore as it gets.  BTW, the boys sounded great, playing for almost 2 and half hours non stop (cause that’s just how we roll around here). Shore favorite John Eddie kicked off the whole evening of music, that rang through the streets as if say Life, liberty and the pursuit of Rock and Soul!.  Southside Johnny is like Thanksgiving dinner.  You know what you’re gonna get, you don’t want anything different, its as tasty as your remember and when its done, you’re full, satisfied and smiling.   MM MMM

I went to Oceanfest on the beach in Long Branch on the Fourth and it was a tough, tough, decision.  There were so many exciting and traditional events going on everywhere.  From the Parade in Ocean Grove, to the concert and fireworks in Freehold to celebrations that dotted the area!  So send in your Fourth of July stories and don’t forget those pictures.
